Barton & Guestier is approaching its tricentenary in 2025 and this is leading it to engage on a major CSR process: “We resolutely want to take the company to a level of excellence and good health for the next generation”, says Marina Julien, Marketing Manager – Travel Retail Manager.

Measures already included ensuring the flagship Château Magnol had been accredited with the High Environmental Value Level 3 certification – an effort that involved limiting the use of pesticides and minimising waste water during production.

Indeed, sustainability is one of the “three pillars” of the B&G business model identified by Julien – the others are “profitability” and the third is “getting the right bottle to the right customer.”

In respect of the “right bottle-right-customer” principle Barton & Guestier has some important new products in 2022 to meet evolving trends in low and no-alcohol including alcohol-removed Veuve Du Vernay and Barton & Guestier Sparking Wine (both 0.5%), as well as a 0.0% Pétillant. In another development Julien reports that a new premium point rosé will be developed for the Barton & Guestier range in 2022.
