B W Confidential, the leading trade media for the international beauty industry, will have two reasons to celebrate at its annual The Beauty Party, which will be held during the Cannes show on the evening of Tuesday 1st October at the Majestic Hotel. This month marks BW Confidential’s 15th anniversary, a milestone, especially given the upheaval the media world has undergone in recent years. But despite all the changes in the media landscape, the publication underlines that it remains true to the mission it set out when it launched in 2009 of providing serious, independent reporting, analysis and commentary on the international beauty market. BW Confidential Editor in Chief Oonagh Phillips states that in today’s world of fake news, this mission is not only still relevant but has become essential. She adds that while staying true to its founding principles, the publication has adapted and expanded its offer, which now includes up-to-the minute news, weekly news roundups, videos, newsletters, special editions and in-depth analysis. Recognising retail excellence at Avolta The second celebration will be the presentation of the BW Confidential Beauty Retailer of the Year Award to travel retail player Avolta. The Award recognises retail excellence, with a particular focus on innovation, technology, customer understanding and sustainability. Avolta was selected for the Award by BW Confidential’s editorial staff and with input from key industry executives. Xavier Rossinyol, Avolta CEO, will accept the Award at The Beauty Party. “Avolta was chosen for the remarkable journey it has been on over the past five years, as well as for its resilience, its audacity, its vision and its new and creative approach to retailing today,” commented BW Confidential Editor in Chief Oonagh Phillips. Having successfully come through the dark days of the Covid pandemic, Swiss travel retailer Dufry and travel food and beverage company Autogrill joined forces in 2023 to create a new company, whose new name was revealed as Avolta at the end of last year. The combination created a company with greater scale, that is more BWConfidential celebrates 15th anniversary at Cannes show BW Confidential to celebrate 15 years and present Avolta with Beauty Retailer of the Year Award at the Cannes show. This year’s BW Confidential Beauty Retailer of the Year Award will be presented to Avolta at The Beauty Party.
