It was crafted and matured over 18 years, not for hoarding, but to come to life in your glass and in every sublime moment of enjoyment. The aroma is full of butterscotch and sweet vanilla shortbread, underpinned by complex soft spice and inviting toasty fireside oak. On the palate are deep molasses, toffee and velvety caramel, dark chocolate orange with fruitcake spice, finishing with a lingering peppery warmth. The complex maturation began in century-old Kauri pine vats, moving to first-fill ex-bourbon American oak barrels. Year upon year, the most exceptionally promising barrels were kept aside. After 18 years, just six precious barrels, the ‘best of the best’, made the cut.
