A l Haramain creates perfumes from Dubai and, as well as being located in Dubai, is “the largest perfume manufacturer in the Middle East”. Speaking more about the company’s focus and its revered product portfolio, Al Haramain Perfumes Global Sales Manager Kalim Shaikh said: “We carry with us more than five decades of experience. So precisely speaking, we are about 55-years-old and we specialise in oriental, western, occidental, all type of fragrances and all types of spray perfumes, as well as specialising in concentrated perfume oil which is without alcohol.” Illustrating how vast its reach is, Shaikh highlighted how the company “exports to more than 100 countries, 80 countries directly, and rest of the countries through a Wholesale Department located in Dubai”. According to Shaikh, there are however “things we would like to get out of being present in travel retail” since the channel and indeed the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference is “a very important event”. Shaikh revealed that the business has already made great strides and noted that “this is the platformwhere we are able to showcase our product and our new launches to our very valuable customers, especially from the travel retail segment”. Here, he explained the value behind the relationships that the show allows the business to build and admi tt ed: “We are looking forward to displaying our products because we have certain new launches”. The key ones include: “Haramain Amber Oud” and “this is a series” which has “got around 12 references, but this year the company is launching Aqua Dubai”. Plus, there is also another one “called Dubai Night”. Shaikh also revealed that giftability across these fragrance lines is big business. He added: “We have travel sets, we have gift boxes, we have individual pieces, we have atomisers, we do everything”. Shaikh also explained how important oud was for the brand too. He added: “We certainly like our consumers to have a feel for the Middle East, and for Dubai, especially with oud since that is what we specialise in”. Shaikh pointed out that “that is the reason our products are be tt er than other products”. In particular, Al Haramain Perfumes is “interested in European markets” because the “products are doing very well in western markets, like North America and South America, and are selling like hot cakes in those markets”. Looking forward, Shaikh assured that the company is “certainly looking at marketplaces in Europe in countries such as Portugal, Spain, France, Germany and Italy”.
