T FWA World Exhibition & Conference is an important platform for Rampur Distillery to connect with the global travel retail community and strengthen its position as a leading Indian premium and luxury spirits company. “This year, our focus is on deepening relationships with our existing partners, building new business opportunities across key travel retail markets and, most importantly, showcasing the continued evolution of our premium portfolio,” explains Sanjeev Banga, President International Business, Radico Khaitan. “We want to demonstrate that Indian spirits are no longer a niche proposition but can compete confidently with the finest global brands. For us, the objective is not just to expand distribution, but to build strong, sustainable brands and create long-term value for our retail partners and consumers.” The company’s focus is on showcasing the evolution of its premium and luxury portfolio, led by Rampur Indian Single Malt Whisky and the newer expressions from the portfolio. A key highlight is Rampur 1943 Virasat Indian Single Malt, which represents the heritage of Rampur Distillery combined with contemporary whisky- making. The whisky is matured in American bourbon barrels and finished in ruby Port pipes, resulting in a rich and layered profile. It is a product that captures the heritage of Indian single malt while offering the complexity and sophistication expected by discerning global consumers. “Another highlight this year will be Rampur Trigun, our new travel retail exclusive expression from the Rampur Indian Single Malt Whisky portfolio,” says Banga. “Trigun is a distinctive expression that brings together three different dimensions of maturation and cask influence to create a complex and layered Indian single malt. It reflects Rampur’s philosophy of experimentation and our ability to create whiskies that are rooted in Indian provenance while appealing to discerning global whisky consumers.” This year, Rampur Trigun is a travel retail-exclusive, and Rampur Distillery sees this as an important step in its approach to the channel. The intention is not simply to create another exclusive SKU, but to develop an expression that has a strong product story and gives travellers a reason to discover and purchase the brand. “We believe that exclusivity works particularly well for premium spirits because the travel retail consumer is often looking for discovery, rarity and products that are not easily available elsewhere,” says Banga. Indeed, travel retail is strategically very important to Rampur Distillery’s international growth plans. “It gives us access to a highly diverse and affluent consumer base and provides an excellent platform to introduce Indian premium spirits to consumers from different parts of the world,” Banga shares. “For Rampur in particular, travel retail has an important role to play in building global awareness and credibility. Consumers are increasingly interested in provenance, authenticity and new stories within the whisky category, and Indian single malt has a very compelling story to tell. Our ambition is to continue increasing our presence across key travel retail markets while working closely with our partners to create stronger brand visibility and consumer experiences. We see travel retail as a long-term brand-building channel, rather than simply another route to market.” Rampur Distillery sees opportunities across markets globally, but Asia-Pacific and the Middle East remain particularly important areas of focus, given their strong travel retail ecosystems and growing consumer interest in premium and luxury spirits. “We also see significant opportunities in Europe and North America, where awareness and appreciation of Indian single malts and premium Indian spirits are continuing to develop,” says Banga. “Our approach is selective. We want to focus on markets where there is a genuine opportunity to build premium brands and establish a strong long- term consumer base. As our portfolio becomes more recognised globally, we believe there is considerable headroom for Indian spirits to grow beyond traditional markets.” Banga adds that TFWA World Exhibition & Conference is an excellent platform to understand how consumer preferences are evolving across different geographies and categories. “For us, TFWA is not just about presenting our portfolio; it is about listening to our partners, understanding where the market is heading and building relationships that can support the next phase of growth for Indian spirits globally.” GreenVillage L71 Rampur Distillery puts Indian single malt in the travel retail spotlight Prev i ew September 2026 38 T F W A D A I L Y
