L uxury Ghanaian fragrance house Scent of Africa is unveiling the first chapter of its highly anticipated new Akua’ba fragrance collection at TFWA World Exhibition & Conference. The brand, which arrives in Cannes with significant international momentum and a clear focus on expanding its presence within global travel retail, will use the show to preview the new collection ahead of its official launch later this year. Enriching Scent of Africa’s unique approach to contemporary fine fragrance, the new collection draws further inspiration from African ingredients and symbolism, highlighting the company’s commitment to bringing African stories, materials and cultural perspectives to the global fragrance landscape. Created specifically for the new collection, the flacon’s sculptural silhouette draws inspiration from the Akua’ba, the iconic fertility figure of Ghana’s Akan culture, traditionally associated with fertility, hope and beauty. Comprising six different fragrances, the Akua’ba collection’s olfactive direction draws inspiration from Thiouraye, the West African tradition of blending and warming fragrant woods, resins and spices to perfume the body, clothing and home. Scent of Africa reinterprets this intimate ritual through fine fragrance, creating a parallel between the transformation of its aromatic materials and the evolving stages of love.
