F or Food Accademia, TFWA World Exhibition & Conference is much more than a trade exhibition. “It is where we strengthen long-term relationships, introduce new Italian brands and, above all, discuss how Italian food culture can evolve within travel retail,” says Fabrizio Canal, CEO, Food Accademia. “Our objective this year is to present Food Accademia not simply as a supplier of premium Italian products, but as a partner capable of creating complete Italian food and beverage experiences across multiple categories. Food Accademia is not building a portfolio. We are building the Italian food destination within global travel retail. We are also looking to expand our international distribution network and develop new collaborations with retailers, airlines, cruise operators and distributors who share our vision of bringing authentic Italian craftsmanship to travellers around the world. This year, Food Accademia is introducing several exciting additions across confectionery, gourmet food, wines and spirits. Among the highlights are new travel-friendly gourmet concepts inspired by regional Italian specialties, premium gifting collections and innovative products developed specifically for the hospitality and airline sectors. “Our portfolio now includes around 80 carefully selected Italian brands, ranging fromMichelin-inspired creations and artisanal chocolate to premium pistachio specialties, fine wines, traditional balsamic vinegar, truffle products and authentic regional delicacies,” Canal explains. “Rather than focusing on individual products alone, we are presenting complete Italian experiences that combine provenance, storytelling and commercial relevance for travel retail.” Food Accademia building an Italian food destination in global travel retail Travellers increasingly look for products that they cannot easily find elsewhere because they tell a unique story, represent a destination or create a memorable experience. “Several of our partners have developed exclusive formats, limited editions and travel-specific packaging for the channel,” Canal shares. “We are also working on destination-inspired collections, premium gifting concepts and airline-exclusive food solutions designed around the needs of modern travellers. For us, exclusivity is about creating added value rather than simply changing the packaging.” BlueVillageAA4 T he leading international Greek cigarette manufacturer KARELIA is showcasing its popular premium offerings at TFWA World Exhibition & Conference this week.
