Mars making travel retail even more interactive C onfectionery giant Mars has unveiled an ambitious new retail strategy centred on immersive experiences, personalisation and Gen Z engagement. The team, in partnership with Valiram and FNA Group, announced the launch of Asia’s first M&M’s Experience store, opened at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The activation is the fourth globally and introduces several new interactive features, including personalised video messages and custom gifting labels that shoppers can attach to products. An De Volder, Market Director ITR, Mars Wrigley, also highlighted a major activation at Singapore Changi Airport, where travellers can dance with M&M’s characters via an interactive screen installation inside The Cocoa Trees store in Terminal 1. The activation is designed to create a “360-degree” retail experience that encourages passengers to stop, interact and share content online. Alongside the new interactive concepts, Mars is showcasing new collectible M&M’s gift packs inspired by travel destinations, as well as exclusive Crocs collaborations targeting younger consumers.
