O ne of the biggest fast-moving consumer goods in the Scandinavian and Baltic markets, Orkla Snacks was confronted back in 2024 with a viral TikTok trend whereby influencers and other social network savvy consumers would unpack and rave about Swedish candy. Originally a mining company founded in the 1960s, Oslo-based Orkla Snacks went into consumer goods 50 years ago and bought family-owned company Bubs five years ago. Following the social media hype, Bubs Sweet Mix and Bubs Sour Mix have started making their way onto the US domestic market. Faced with requests from distributors, the Oslo-based company – which sells on its domestic markets a wider range of chocolates, candies and crisps – accompanied the movement and saw the expansion potential for a selection of candies. Fast forward to TFWA World Exhibition & Conference 2026, where Orkla Snacks is introducing Bubs as well as Smash, a crispy salted corn chocolate snack. Orkla Snacks takes over the world with TikTok “Now we want to enter the tax-free market,” explains Orkla Snacks Exports Manager Martin Thomas. “We work a little bit with tax free in Scandinavia locally, but we want to spread it wider, so that’s why we’re here.” With a major focus on airport shops, Orkla Snacks also vies to expand onto the ferry lines market and more generally to increase brand awareness worldwide. MediterraneanVillageN7 A regular at TFWA World Exhibition & Conference, global tobacco brand KT International is this year very much enjoying its Bay Village location, where the cosy lounge and terrace access are very much appreciated by visiting customers, rejoices Corporate Brands Manager Milena Stoyanova. “We’ve been here for more than 10 years. Cannes is very important for us because this is the place where we can meet our partners from travel retail business.” Seizing this opportunity to nurture its network and meet people face to face, KT International is introducing the new products from its iconic King and Corset ranges. The King Capsule range comes with three different flavours: berry, mango, and menthol. The more refined Corset range now comes as single as double capsule. “The single capsule is with menthol flavour and the double capsule is both menthol and berry. So, you can just combine the flavours or choose one of them,” Stoyanova explains. Undoubtedly, the highlight is on Corset Shell Pack. “It’s the first pack of its King and Corset fruity flavours kind worldwide because we’re the only manufacturer that has a machine able to do that,” she hints. With an established presence in Europe, Asia, Middle East and North Africa, KT International has recently participated in two events in the US and is now eager to take market share in the Americas.
